UK gets new weapons act, secures Sikh right to carry kirpans

A new Offensive Weapons Bill aimed at tackling rising knife crime in the UK completed its journey through Parliament to become an act of law after receiving the Royal Assent of Queen Elizabeth II this week. The bill had been amended last year to ensure that it would not impact the right of British Sikh community to possess & supply kirpans, or religious swords.
